How to Obtain a New Local Business Tax Receipt

 

 

Prior to submittal, please check The Brevard County Property Appraiser’s Office to ensure your business is located within the town limits.

 If you are a professional or in a business that requires a license from any division of the State, you must first obtain your State license before applying for your Town of Indialantic Local Business Tax Receipt.

  • Any entity that transacts business as a corporation is required to file documents of incorporation or authorization with the State Division of Corporations. Proof of active status must be submitted with your application for a Town of Indialantic Local Business Tax Receipt.

  • If the business name on the Local Business Tax Receipt is anything other than the legal name of the owner(s), it must be registered or re-registered as a fictitious name with Florida Division of Corporations 850-245-6058 

  • To qualify for a Local Business Tax Receipt, you must complete the Local Business Tax Receipt application, the application must be completed entirely prior to submitting. Please download the application that is applicable to your business. In order to download an application, you will need Adobe Reader installed on your PC.  Completed applications can be dropped off in person at Town Hall or emailed to vtwitty [at] indialantic.com.

  • Home-based businesses are permitted if the home is strictly for phone, mail, and bookkeeping work. Not permitted is any business that employs people or attracts customers or vehicular traffic to the home. The home-based business must be so unobtrusive that the residents are unaware of its existence.

Please allow 5-10 business days for processing. You will be notified via e-mail when your Local Business Tax Receipt has been approved.
