CodeRed Emergency Notification System

The codeRed Community Warning System is used to make emergency telephone notifications for events such as evacuation orders, boil water notices, crime information, and other items of significant importance to the community. The codeRED system gives town officials the ability to deliver pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information messages to targeted areas or the entire town at a rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour.

You should not automatically assume that your phone number is included in the database. All businesses should register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers and/or  have changed their phone number or address within the last year and/or use a cellular phone as their primary home phone.

The codeRED system is a geographical based notification system, which means street addresses are needed to select which phone numbers will receive emergency notification calls in any given situation. The system works fine for cell phones too, but the system still requires a street address. People who have recently moved but kept the same listed or unlisted phone number also need to change their address in the database.

You can add a phone number to the system yourself by clicking on the following codeRED link:

You will be asked to input your name, address and phone number and the database will be updated within a few days. If you have multiple numbers or a fax/modem line and would like to have a number(s) deleted from the system so as not to receive redundant notifications or if you do not have access to the Internet, contact Sgt. Mike Casey at 723-7788,

Note: You must live within the geographic boundaries of the Town of Indialantic. You can not participate or register from this site if you reside in the un-incorporated or Melbourne areas of North Indialantic even though you have a 32903 zip code.

You may download the app on iTunes or Google Play or click here to learn more. The app comes with a 30-day complimentary trial of CodeRED Weather Warning, which provides location-specific warnings after an alert has been issued by the National Weather Service.
