CANDIDATES FOR COUNCIL SEAT 1

Norman Greer, Deputy Mayor

Since joining the Council 10 years ago, I have consistently sought to provide quality Police and Fire protection, minimize costs and improve the quality of life for all residents of the Town.

I am pleased to report that all departments have been adequately trained and equipped. Improvements in the Fire Department resulted in a 2 point drop in the Town's ISO rating which will result in savings on your fire insurance bills. Response times for Police and Fire Rescue have been reduced to 2.5 minutes.

We have improved the financial posture of the Town and reduced taxes for two of the past three years. Our cash reserves are now over $600,000 - adequate to provide necessary funds in the event of a disaster to the Town.

Many improvements have been made to our recreational facilities. Still to be completed this year is the provision of additional playground equipment, restrooms and a basketball court at Orlando Park.

We have received over $800,000 in grants during the past two years for improvements to the Town including new equipment, drainage, dune crossovers, beachfront property and improvements to Fifth Avenue.

I am proud of my accomplishments these past 10 years and look forward to serving you again.

As Councilman, Bob Rondinone pledges to:

listen with an open mind to all points of view before voting;

hold the line on property taxes;

support safety through neighbor- hood police patrols

maintain the prestigious image of Indialantic through continued beautification of our parks and rights of way.

Bob shares your concern about the efficient use of our taxes and will welcome your calls at his 201 First Ave. home. His phone number is 768-1763.

Bob would appreciate the support of your vote for Council.

Paul Andrew Schaafsma

Paul Andrew Schaafsma lives at 132 Tampa Ave. He has been a Brevard County resident since moving here from Connecticut in 1991. He is currently employed with Bell South.

Being raised on the Long Island Sound, Paul has always had a draw to the ocean and that's what initially brought him here.

Protecting our natural resources and wildlife is his number one goal. Paul believes that minimizing disturbance to the dunes is in all our best interest. He will insure that any damage already done will be repaired.

Beachfront development should be controlled. Any financial gains today may result in serious repercussions for the future.

If elected, Paul will do everything within his abilities to preserve our beaches not just for us but for future generations.

As your Councilman, Paul promises to be there for you on all issues and not allow anything to be just swept under the carpet.

We all have the right to express our concerns and he will be the eyes and ears for his fellow residents.

Paul can be reached at 953-2522 or 799-7505. Go To Top / Council Seat 1 Page / Council Seat 3 Page / Message From Councilwoman Frazier / Last Page / Home Page
