1.   CALL TO ORDER AT 5:30 PM

Chairman Kleving called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.

2.      REPORTS AND DISCUSSIONS

A.  Review of Ordinance No. 01-02 for consistency with the Comprehensive Plan

The Building Official explained that this Ordinance was drafted in response to the state law effective October 1, 2000 mandating swimming pool safety measures.

In response to a question from the Board concerning the implications for existing pools, the Town Manager explained that he understood the mandates to affect only construction after October 1, 2000 and stated that he would request the attorney clarify this in the ordinance.

Mr. Chinault also explained that, even if Indialantic did not adopt the ordinance, homeowners would still be bound by the State law.

The Board also noted some discrepancies in the requirements and Mr. Krulikowski indicated that some requirements are based on Indialantic’s current code, which is in some cases more stringent than the State law.

Mr. Bertel moved to find Ordinance No. 01-02 in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan as indicated.  Mr. MacNeill seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

3.   ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 PM.
