      I.            CALL TO ORDER AT 9:00 AM

 

Chairman Gust called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.

    II.            APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES

A.     Minutes 04-10 October 25, 2004

        

Ms. Preece moved to accept prior minutes

Mr. McLaughlin seconded, motion passed unanimously.

  III.            TREASURER’S REPORT-

 

IV.            TOWN HALL REPORT – R. Cassedy

Mr. Chinault reported on the clean up after the hurricanes.  Douglas Park needs to have the seawall replaced.  The beach clean up has been completed from crossover 15 to south of Town.  Nearly all the sand has been put back on the beach.  The Town has been working with DOT to remove the boats on the north side of the causeway . 

  V.            BEAUTIFICATION

            Chairman Gust presented the Beautification award to 415 Palmetto Place.  It will remain there for 2 months, when this committee will vote on a new location.

VI.            PARKS

A.        Discussion of assigned parks

            The showers at Nance Park drip constantly.

 

B.         Discussion on expanding concerts in the park

            Chairman Gust discussed having this become an activity this committee becomes involved in.  Perhaps go to the High Schools to request various bands to play.  Ms. Potts-Hendry will organize the concerts, scheduling the first one for the first week in February.  Ms. Potts-Hendry will research and report back at next meeting.

           VIII.            OTHER

A.  Discussion of Luminaria

      Discussion of how to promote luminaria sales this year.  Push the advertising this year, approach Hometown News, Beverly will bring flyers to school, have committee members drop off flyers to private pre-schools.  The fflyers should present story of luminaria as well as details of the tree lighting.  Chairman Gust will discuss with Ms. Schwanbeck the quantity and content of the flyers.

 

 

               IX.            ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING November 22, 2004.

A.   Plan to develop land between Lily Park and Melbourne Avenue

            B.   Discuss development of Sunrise Park, cost and feasibility of installing water line to the gazebo

 

   X.    ADJOURNMENT
