      I.            CALL TO ORDER AT 10:00 AM

 

Chairman Benevente called the meeting to order at 10:00 am.

    II.            APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES

A.     Minutes 04-03 January 12, 2004

        

Mr. Deratany moved to accept prior minutes with the following corrections: 

Ms. Preece was excused, not absent Mr. Gust seconded, motion passed unanimously.

  III.            TREASURER’S REPORT-

Mr. Deratany moved to accept the treasurer’s report, which included the following expenses:

January expenses $10.00 for Santa suit cleaning, account # 572-4900

Luminaria receipts were $334.00.

Ms. Schwanbeck seconded, motion passed unanimously.

IV.            TOWN HALL REPORT – R. Cassedy

The refurbishing of crossover #3 at the Nance Park bathroom has been completed.

The Fire Department personnel assembled the new fire truck, and Public Works personnel installed it in Orlando Park.  Six yards of sand was placed under and around the truck.

A six-foot by ten-foot wooden walk way was constructed and installed by public works personnel at Sunrise Park crossover.

 

  V.            BEAUTIFICATION

A.        Nominees for beautification award, (residential or commercial). 

            Discussion ensued regarding whether the award was just for landscaping improvements or for landscape OR building improvements.  Tabled until determined.

VI.            PARKS

A.        Reports on assigned parks

            Mr. Gust reported the fire truck looks great in Orlando Park, the rain delay has not been installed yet and the sand spurs are much improved.

            Ms. Preece mentioned that the sand in Orlando Park around the fire truck is not ADA compliant, she’s afraid that the Town may be sued.

             VII.            RECREATION

A.        Discussion on Easter egg Hunt.

Easter egg hunt will be Saturday, April 3.  At next meeting committee will discuss filling eggs, assigning patches, etc.

 

           VIII.            OTHER

Discussion ensued regarding changing the meeting time to 9 am instead of 10 am. 

Ms. Preece moved to change the meeting time to 9 am, Mr. Gust seconded, motion passed unanimously.

 

Ms. Preece would like to recommend to Council that they appoint someone from public works as the playground safety inspector for the Town.  You must be certified to do this, certification cost approximately $1,000.00.

Ms. Preece made a motion to recommend this to Council, motion died for lack of a second.
