      I.            CALL TO ORDER AT 10:00 AM

 

Chairman Benevente called the meeting to order at 10:00 am.

    II.            APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES

A.     Minutes 03-08 August 11, 2003

        

Ms. Preece moved to accept prior minutes with the following corrections: VIII.  House numbers must be 2 ˝ inches in height.

Ms. Schwanbeck seconded, motion passed unanimously.

  III.            TREASURER’S REPORT-

IV.            TOWN HALL REPORT – R. Cassedy

Public works employees installed a fence along the south property line of Sunset Park.

 

Two parking spots were added to the east side of S. Riverside Place for Douglas Park.

 

ADA picnic tables arrived and were installed in Douglas Park and Riverside Park.

 

Vandalism is an ongoing problem at the bathrooms in Nance Park.  The showers are especially prone to breaking because they are outside.  We are constantly making repairs to the showers.  Because of high usage they wear out and get loose, which causes them to drip from time to time.  The On/Off handles are replaced aften.

 

  V.            BEAUTIFICATION

A.        Ms. Preece nominated 218 Second Avenue, Mr. McLaughlin seconded.  Motion passed unanimously.

VI.            PARKS

A.        Ms. Preece made a motion to support the Town’s application to apply for a FRDAP grant for Sunrise Park, Mr. McLaughlin seconded, motion passed unanimously.

B.                  

C.        Mr. Chinault explained that all end of year projects take precedence.

D.       Mr. McLaughlin suggested the police department have a closer patrol and perhaps have signs that state that        vandals will be prosecuted.

Ms. Schwanbeck discussed the tree lighting, tentatively set for December 4, she needs to check with the police dept. the fire dept. and public works to confirm.
