   V.            PARKS

1.                  Gazebo at Lily Park

Linda Gilbert and Mary Henley, members of Garden Club by the Sea, were present to discuss the new gazebo at Lily Park. Ms. Gilbert brought plans that were used in the construction of a gazebo at her residence. After 11 years, the structure is still in great shape. The contractor, Dennis Beach, submitted a proposal for the construction of a gazebo in the amount of $7,500.00. The Garden Club has agreed to pay half of the expense with the remainder being paid by the Parks, Beautification and Recreation Committee.

Members of the Garden Club have looked at many gazebos for less money including prefab, but considered them flimsy and not well constructed.

After discussion, Ron advised the Committee that he would attempt to get several bids based on a set of plans with specs.

Ms. Kowalski made the motion that a representative from the Garden Club meet with Chairman Bohlmann and Ron to resolve what needs to be done in order to proceed. Ms. Thomson seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

2.                  Pump house Orlando Park

The Committee discussed improvements to the pump house. Ron stated that the structure as well as the roof is sound. However, the siding needs to be replaced. He will bring estimate for siding at next meeting.
