4. TOWN HALL/COMMUNITY CONCERNS

A. Dir. Public Works - R. Cassedy

Mr. Cassedy advised the committee that an irrigation system was being installed in the median. Completion of this project should be by the middle of the month and planting should be in before the end of the month.

The water sprinkler in Lily Park should now be off by 7:30 a.m. Watering is three days a week.

Stainless steel electrical boxes as replacement on the poles that hold the Christmas wreaths would cost around $12,000.00. Ron suggested replacing a few at a time, as needed and he will check for ones needing immediate replacement. FPL has no problem with the boxes being changed.

Ms. Thomson moved that Chairman Hay or Ron inform the Acting Town Manager that the Christmas wreaths and electrical boxes need replacing by this season. Mr. Bohlmann seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

It was decided that Ron, Chairman Hay and Ken Bohlmann will talk with Laura.

The committee discussed play equipment options. Ron has a meeting with someone from the county and he will discuss installation of play equipment in Nance Park and request assistance with funding.

Ms. Thomson gave catalogs to Ron noting that Timber Craft has a Poly Play System that is covered and capped wood.

Some committee members have observed that the Manatee in Melbourne has problems, specifically chunks have fallen out. Chairman Hay brought up the idea of a fiberglass turtle. Mr. Bohlmann suggested that Bombardier Company be contacted regarding fabrication information.
