HERITAGE COMMITTEE MINUTES

July 20, 2004

I. CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Andren called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

PRESENT

Carol Andren, Denise Bozeman, Todd Deratany, Jenifer Marx and William Miller.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JUNE 15, 2004

Minutes from the June 15, 2004 meeting were approved as written.

III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

No draft for developing oral history program to date.

Chairman Andren to contact Ron Campbell to add Zada’s article on town’s website.

Ms. Marx agreed to a second Town Talk about Dickinson and his travels from St. Augustine to Charleston. The Town Talk is scheduled for Sunday, October 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Bozeman and Ms. Marx agreed to write press release and disseminate.

Mr. Deratany agreed to contact Ms. Demetriades about “tin can” photographs and Tradewinds Hotel plates.

IV. COMMITTEE REPORTS

Ms. Bozeman agreed to research the price of the 50^th Anniversary historical building signs.

Ms. Marx suggested prioritizing contact list in addition to addresses and phone numbers.

Chairman Andren clarified one does not have to be on the Heritage Committee to interview but you do have to be a resident of Indialantic to be on the committee.

Ms. Marx moved to purchase a Sony tape recorder with enough quality for historical archival purposes not to exceed $300.00. Ms. Bozeman seconded and all approved.

Mr. Deratany discussed the idea of his brother-in-law applying to become a member of the Heritage Committee. All were in favor.

V. ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 a.m.
