HERITAGE COMMITTEE
August 19, 2003, 8:00 A.M.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Andren called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. All members were present.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES JULY 8
Minutes of July 8, 2003 were approved with the changing of the word plot to plat in the fourth paragraph.
III. DISCUSSION OF ORAL HISTORY PROJECT
Ms. Marx related her conversation with Mary Hayward and suggested that the oral history interview be video taped.
The Committee discussed renting versus purchasing video equipment. Chairman Andren will contact Dan Wagner about video taping the interview with Ms. Hayward.
Ms. Marx will prepare a list of questions for the interview and at the suggestion of Ms. Bozeman present Ms. Hayward a list of the questions prior to the interview.
IV. OTHER
Ms. Bozeman displayed samples of logos for the Heritage Committee. All agreed using “sea oats” was a nice touch.
Ms. Marx informed the Committee that Wade Milligan has the original plat of Indialantic and other historical materials relating to the founding of the town.
The Committee discussed duplicating the china pattern from the Tradewinds Hotel.
A program focusing on topics pre-20th century might include WWII, surfing, the space program, natural history, Ais Indians, shipwrecks and travel.
V. ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Andren adjourned the meeting at 8:50 a.m. Next meeting September 16, 2003.
