MINUTES OF A SPECIAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2005 AT THE INDIALANTIC TOWN HALL

I. CALL TO ORDER AT 7:00 PM
Mayor Trott called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

III. FINAL PUBLIC HEARING ON 2005-2006 MILLAGE RATE AND BUDGET
A. Resolution 05-10 – Adoption of millage rate for 2005-2006
1. Announcement – the millage rate to be levied for the Town of Indialantic is 4.6203 which is a 10% increase over the rolled back millage rate of 4.2003
The Town Clerk read the announcement.
The Town Manager noted that the 10% increase over the rolled back rate is needed to fund infrastructure drainage needs, public safety matters, prior hurricane damage and to potentially lessen the impact of future hurricanes.
The Town Manager clarified that the impact on taxes would depend on assessed property values and explained the rolled back rate.
2. Public Hearing
There were no public comments.
3. Adoption
Councilman Berkman moved to adopt Resolution 05-10 adopting the millage rate. Councilman Bogert seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
B. Resolution 05-11 – Adoption of the 2005-2006 budget in the amount of $3,770,374 with a General Fund budget of $3,051,992
1. Public Hearing
There were no public comments.
2. Adoption
It was clarified that the contingency account would be discussed in October.
Councilman Bogert moved to adopt Resolution 05-11 adopting the budget figures. Deputy Mayor McCabe seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 PM.
