MINUTES OF A BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE INDIALANTIC TOWN HALL ON MAY 19, 2003

 

PRESENT:           Raymond DiZefalo, Chairman

                   Les Barlow

                   Orlando Brillante

                   Norman Greer

                   Jack Kish

                  Christopher W. Chinault, Town Manager

                        Laura Eaton, Town Clerk

 

A.      CALL TO ORDER AT 11:00 AM

 

          Chairman DiZefalo called the meeting to order at 11:00 am.

 

B.      APPROVAL OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED BY THE PROPOSED ONE PERCENT DISCRETIONARY INFRASTRUCTURE SALES TAX

 

            1.     Drainage improvements

         2.     Police/Fire vehicles

         3.     Building improvements (hurricane hardening)

 

            Town Manager Chinault presented a proposed resolution adopting an interlocal agreement with Brevard County regarding the one percent sales tax and reviewed projects that would funded by the Town’s share should it be enacted.

 

         Mr. Barlow moved to support the interlocal agreement with Brevard County.  Mr. Brillante seconded.  Motion carried with Mr. Greer voting “nay.”

 

         Mr. Barlow moved  to support the projects to be funded should the sales tax be enacted.  Mr. Brillante seconded.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

C.      ADJOURNMENT

 

          The meeting adjourned at 11:40 am.
