August 2005

Personnel

·        Volunteers Business meeting Chief and staff in attendance

·        Supported the Police and Fire Meet the community night

·        Chief Macdonald attended BCC Firefighter Graduation

·        Town Staff Meeting (5)

·        Air Packs (5) taken in for annual inspection. All passed

·        Indialantic Fire Rescue hosted a meeting with Communications International

·        Chief Macdonald attended Fire Chief’s operations committee

·        Chief Macdonald attended Space Coast Fire Chief’s meeting

·        Chief Macdonald interviewed at BCC for television program

·        Annual testing of 5 inch and 2.5 inch hose. Two sections of 5 inch failed

·        New paging system for firefighters initiated

Operations

·        The department responded to fourty-five (45) incidents during the month of August, twenty-six (26) were for medical assistance.

·        The Volunteers held their monthly business meeting.

·        Business Inspections completed (40)

·        Weekly volunteer training programs held

·        Inspected and cleaned 9 sets of fire protection clothing, 2.5 sets failed inspection.

Fire Prevention/Code Enforcement

·        The department conducted four (4) fire safety inspections.

·        Revisited two (2) sets of building plans and made necessary adjustments.

·        Reviewed one (1) set of building plans.

Training

·        Training for the month of July  -73  hours
