February 2001
Chief
Barker and Captain Haggas attended one day of Fire Rescue East in Jacksonville.
Chief
Barker attended meeting in Melbourne Beach to develop new Water Rescue
protocols.
Chief
Barker attended the monthly volunteer business meeting.
The
department responded to twenty-five (25) incidents during the month of February
twenty (20) were for medical assistance.
Replaced
two (2) entry doors on fire station (rear and east side) and repaired rotten
section of jamb. Also repaired rotten place in the front office window sash.
The
volunteers purchased eight (8) new sets of Advanced Nomex bunker gear at a cost
of $5800 dollars.
The
volunteers purchased a 12-½ foot aluminum-telescoping ladder. This type of
ladder will make inside attic entry less cumbersome.
The
Department signed one (1) new volunteer in February.
The
Department conducted zero (0) fire safety inspections and zero (0)
re-inspections.
Reviewed
one (1) set of building plans and conducted one (1) occupational license
checks.
Training
for the month of February – 66 manhours
Volunteer
work hours in the station – 308 hours
