RESOLUTION 07-11

 

 

A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A MILLAGE RATE FOR THE TOWN OF INDIALANTIC FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008

 

 

WHEREAS, Section 5.06 of the Town Charter of the Town of Indialantic, Florida provides that the Town Council shall have the full power and authority to levy taxes upon all property, privileges, and professions which are taxable in accordance with the laws of the State, and

 

WHEREAS, the Town Council has adopted a tentative General Fund budget in the amount of $3,386,922 for Fiscal Year 2007-2008 that requires a millage rate of 4.3313, and

 

WHEREAS, the Town Council has held the requisite public hearings on the proposed millage rate and advertised its intent to finally adopt a millage rate as required by Florida Statute 200.065, the Town Charter and the Town Code of Ordinances,

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1.  That the ad valorem municipal tax for the Town of Indialantic be established at the rate of 4.3313 mills per $1,000 of assessed valuation for FY 2007-2008, which is a 4.07% increase over the rolled back millage rate of 4.1621.

 

Section 2.   That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be hereinafter duly forwarded by the Town Clerk to the Property Appraiser of Brevard County, Florida, and the Department of Revenue of the State of Florida.

 

Section 3.   This Resolution was duly passed by the Town Council at a regular Council meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Indialantic, Florida, on the 19th day of September, 2007.
