RESOLUTION NO. 07-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF INDIALANTIC, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING JOINT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT AMENDMENT #1 WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CONCERNING THE PLANTING OF TREES ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE US-192/SR-500 (aka MELBOURNE) CAUSEWAY AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE TOWN
WHEREAS, hurricanes in late calendar year 2004 caused significant damage to the south side of the US-192/SR-500 (Melbourne) causeway within the Town of Indialantic; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Indialantic, Florida desires to improve the US-192/SR-500 right-of-way that suffered hurricane damage; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) caused improvements to be made to the area by replacing the hurricane damaged bike path and installing protective measures to the south side of the causeway shoreline; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Indialantic desires to amend an existing Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to have trees installed along the south side of the US-192/SR-500 causeway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF INDIALANTIC, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. Joint Participation Agreement Amendment #1 with the Town of Indialantic and the Florida Department of Transportation for the purpose of having trees installed along the south side of the US-192/SR-500 causeway is hereby approved; and
2. Christopher W. Chinault, Town Manager, is authorized and duly empowered to sign any and all documents relating to the Joint Participation Agreement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF INDIALANTIC, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, THIS 20TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2007.
