I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Ms. Berkman called the meeting to order at 9:17 a.m.

II. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES
MINUTES 15-04; FEBRUARY 23, 2015
Ms. Campbell moved to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Michelson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT- MR. GERVAIS
NANCE PARK
The roof on the restrooms at the park is in need of repair. Mr. Gervais will complete the research for a roofing company to complete the project.

LILY PARK
Public Works personnel installed two poles to mark the border of the property immediately South of Lily Park, which the Town took ownership from Florida Institute of Technology in November 2002.

IV. BEAUTIFICATION
STATUS OF BEAUTIFICATION AWARD SIGN
The sign was recently relocated to 107 Tradewinds Terrace. The sign will remain there until the next scheduled meeting in April. Nominations for the next location will be brought before the committee at the next scheduled meeting.

Sunrise Park- requested two trash barrels for the park.

Dewey Park- Ms. Schwanbeck mentioned that on the east side of the park, trucks have been parking on the grass area, during the daytime. Mr. Chinault will monitor the situation, and take action if needed.

B. CONSIDERTION OF RE-NAMING SUNSET PARK
Councilmember Hoffman approached the Committee about renaming Sunset Park, to recognize Vincent Benevente. She noted that although the County’s policy does not allow parks to be named after living persons, many municipalities have policies allowing parks to be named after people who have made significant contributions to the community. She stated that Mr. Benevente was instrumental in the development of the park and has served on various Town boards and committees including the Town Council.

Mr. Antonetz made a motion for the park to be renamed to Vincent Benevent Sunset Park as discussed with the Committee. Ms. Campbell seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

VI. RECREATION
EASTER EGG HUNT- SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2015
Assignment of patches for egg hunt: Ms. Berkman age patch 0-2, Ms. Nadeau age patch 3-4, Mr. Michelson age patch 5-6, Ms. Gott age patch 7-8. Ms. Mercer’s daughter and friend have volunteered to portray the role of the Easter Bunny, and the Chicken. Ms. Schwanbeck has already contacted the two clowns. One clown will do face-painting while the other clown will do balloons. Ms. Schwanbeck will be available for the day of the event to complete the duties for the event as far as organization, signs, taping off patches, announcements/etc. Ms. Schwanbeck will provide the candy to Ms. Berkman by the March 11th for the eggs to be filled. Ms. Berkman’s daughter will fill the plastic eggs with candy. Ms. Berkman will then deliver the plastic eggs to other Committee members at their residences before the event date. Ms. Schwanbeck asked the members to arrive around 8:20am to assist in setting up.

Ms. Campbell and Ms. Peters will not be able to attend the event and are excused.

Mr. Gervais will confirm that the sprinklers will not be on before the event. Mr. Gervais will also confirm with John Howard, Public Works employee about the speaker box for the amplified music and announcements.

EIGHTH ANNUAL WITCH WAY 5K RUN/WALK
Discussion and possible action relating to the 2015 WW5K is set for the April 8th Town Council meeting. The Indialantic Rotary has expressed an interest in the 5K run and requested that Council approve them as a partner in the Eighth Annual WW5K. They are requesting that the Rotary would receive 50% of the net profits and will assume most of the responsibility for planning the race. The proposed date for the event is October 10th.

VII. OTHER
MEMORIAL BENCH FOR STEVE KENYON
Ms. Postma spoke regarding the proposal of a memorial bench for Steve Kenyon. Steve was a Public Works employee who passed away unexpectedly. She is requesting assistance with funds from the Committee towards a bench. Sufficient contributions have been received to cover the bench cost from numerous employees and local residences, with a total of $466.00 as of this date. Ms. Postma is requesting funds up to $500.00 to help offset the price of the project. Ms. Postma also requested the bench be placed in a shaded area.

Ms. Berkman made a motion for the Committee to contribute up to $500.00 towards the memorial bench project as discussed with the Committee. Mr. Michelson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
