I. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairperson Ms. Mayer called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.

II. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES
Minutes 12-03; January 23, 2012
Lily Park- Ms Nadeau commented on the fact that the park is being over watered. The park should only be watered one day a week, not two. The question was brought up regarding the park being fertilized. The Garden Club by the Sea would like the park not to be fertilized. The Garden Club by the Sea would not like the butterfly area of the park fertilized.

Mr. Gott moved to approve the minutes with corrections noted. Ms. Nadeau seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT – MR. CASSEDY
No report.

IV. BEAUTIFICATION
Status of Beautification Award sign
Current location is at the residence of 201 Fourth Avenue. Ms Nadeau nominated 312 Melbourne Avenue. Ms. Berkman seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Ms. Mercer will send a letter to the property owner advising of the Committee’s decision. The sign will remain at the current location until arrangements have been made to relocate the sign. Nominations for the next location will be brought before the committee at the next scheduled meeting.

VI. RECREATION
Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, March 31, 2012 @ 9:00am
Ms. Schwanbeck advised that there will only be Committee members present for the event, there will not be any Police Explorers to assist. Ms. Schwanbeck has made arrangements for the Bunny and Chicken to appear. Ms. Schwanbeck will bring the signs and music to the event. Ms. Schwanbeck will distribute plastic eggs at the end of the next meeting. Ms. Schwanbeck will purchase the candy. The Committee members are to fill the eggs at their private residences. Committee members are to be at the park between 8:00AM – 8:15AM to setup. Age ranges 0-2 Ms. Berkman, 3-4 Ms. Nadeau, 5-6 Ms. Mayer, 7-8 Mr. Michelson. Ms. Schwanbeck, Mr. Gott and Mr. Dunn will assist with any necessary assistance. Ms. Deratany Goldfarb has a prior engagement and unable to attend.

Fifth Annual Indialantic Witch Way 5K, Saturday, October 13, 2012
Tabled for March 26, 2012
Ms. Mercer advised the Committee that Ms. Deratany Goldfarb contacted The Running Zone and the date is unable to be changed. Ms. Berkman spoke on behalf of Ms. Deratany Goldfarb and herself, regarding an email that the proceeds of the event be donated to Florida Wildlife Hospital, 4560 North US1, Melbourne, Florida 32935, 321-254-8843. Ms. Mayer and Ms. Nadeau will visit the hospital before the next scheduled meeting.

December Holiday Banner
Tabled for March 26, 2012
Information needed: design, size, provider, and cost estimate. The banner will be situated over the turtle sign, Fifth Avenue and East of SR-A1A.

VII. OTHER
Improvement Plan for Area Parks
Ms. Nadeau suggested a two-year plan during the Spring and Fall seasons. Ms. Nadeau suggested removing the dead vegetation. Ms. Mayer suggested removing the invasive vine throughout the parks and Wavecrest Extension/ Ninth Avenue area. Ms. Mayer suggested setting up dates and times, when Committee members are available to join together for a clean up of the parks. Ms. Schwanbeck suggested getting the Boy Scouts and Prisoners involved. Ms. Nadeau will compose a plan for the parks.
