I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Ms. Deratany Goldfarb called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.

II. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES
Minutes 11-06; April 25, 2011
Mr. Michelson moved to approve the minutes. Ms. Mayer seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT – MR. CASSEDY
Mr. Cassedy advised unknown subject(s) are vandalizing the Town’s parks for the past month with spray paint and sharpie markers.

Orlando Park
The climbing wall has rust problems whereby portions of the metal will be removed and replaced. Play equipment will be removed as needed due to maintenance/disrepair.

Riverside Park
Irrigation problems were attended to and resolved.

Sunrise Park
Sea grapes have been installed by the County. The outfall construction project has been completed.

Holiday Decorations for Fifth Avenue/ SR500
The current contract with Clark Sales Display, Inc. will expire this year. Mr. Cassedy contacted several companies for new bids, with no company interested in Brevard County. Mr. Cassedy will ask Council to renew the contact with Clark Sales Display, Inc. for three more years. The renewal contract will be presented before Town Council June 21, 2011.

Sunrise Park
Fibar material was installed around the exercise equipment. The park has been a staging area for numerous projects including beach re-nourishment and hurricane debris collection.

IV. BEAUTIFICATION
Status of Beautification Award sign
Current location is at the residence of 500 Orlando Blvd. Mr. Michelson nominated 102 Tradewinds Terrace. Mr. Gott seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Ms. Twitty-Mercer will send a letter to the property owner advising the decision of the Committee. The sign will remain at the current location until arrangements have been made to relocate the sign. Nominations for the next location will be brought before the committee at the next scheduled meeting.

VI. RECREATION
Fourth Annual Witch Way 5K, Saturday, October 15, 2011 @ 6:30 p.m.
The contract/agreement has been signed and confirmed. The start and end will take place at Nance Park. The route, after party, will be determined by the WW5K Committee. The Nature Conservancy has agreed to participate with assistance. Mr. Chinault advised the Committee on the usage of amplified music in the Indialantic Plaza as opposed to inside Nance Park. Amplified music is not allowed after 5PM at the Indialantic Plaza. Amplified music is allowed inside Nance Park after 5PM with a permit.

June 08, 2011 at 9:15AM in the Council Chambers will be the next meeting for the WW5K group.
