I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Ms. Deratany Goldfarb called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m.

II. APPROVAL OF PRIOR MEETING MINUTES
Minutes 10-10; September 27, 2010
Mr. Gott moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Michelson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT – MR. CHINAULT
Orlando Park
The seesaw was broken and has been repaired by Public Works. The small pavilion sustained damage to the spindles, which were repaired. Public Works is currently in the process of adding a spring toy.

Nance Park
Sand spurs were noticed in the park and TruGreen will be notified to assist in the situation.

Play Equipment Vendor Grant
The Town has been contacted by a vendor offering to provide certain play equipment at a discounted price. Mr. Chinault inquired as to whether the Committee desired to utilize Parks Projects account money (572.9200) to cover the discounted play item price. There was no expression of a desire to pursue this matter.

IV. BEAUTIFICATION
Status of Beautification Award sign
Current location of the beautification award sign is at Physical Addictions, 200 South Miramar Avenue. The sign will remain on the property until late November.

The next location will be voted on at the next scheduled meeting with the nominations of:
301 Michigan Avenue, 429 Wayne Avenue, 330 Ormond Drive, 305 Wayne Avenue, 1202 South Ramona Avenue and 400 Seventh Avenue.

Tradewinds Park- Suggested to remove vegetation and replace with mulch or low-lying plants to cover ground area.

Sunrise Park & Sunset Park – Bernie Gott
Sunrise Park- Parking issues.
Sunset Park- No complaints.

Dewey Park & Wavecrest Extension Park- Anne Mayer
Dewey Park- No complaints.
Wavecrest Extension Park- Trash on the beach and boardwalk area.

Wavecrest Park & Indialantic Ocean Beach Park – Larry Michelson
Boards along the Western edge of the boardwalk across from 2 Fifth Avenue are sticking up presenting a possible of a trip hazard.

Douglas Park & Riverside Park – JoAnne Nadeau
No complaints.

Gus Carey Park & Sea Park – Marge Schwanbeck
No complaints.

VI. RECREATION
Third Annual Witch Way 5K, Saturday, October 23, 2010 @ 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Goldfarb informed the Committee that there were 644 registered WW5K runners with 575 crossing over the starting line. The gross projected income is $24,000 with $14,000 as a net amount. The final figures will be determined in December/January.

Ms. Berkman spoke with a representative from Long Doggers Restaurant who suggested having the event in the parking lot of the restaurant in 2011. Mr. Gott suggested that merchants would complain that parking spaces would not be available for their patrons.

Ms. Deratany Goldfarb advised that medals, pins, ribbons, etc. are currently at Town Hall and will remain at Town Hall for storage throughout the year. All t-shirts that were ordered were given to the registered runners, who registered before the deadline. Runners that registered the day before the race and the day of the race received five dollars ($5.00) off the registration fee and did not receive a t-shirt. A thank you letter will be mailed or hand delivered to the sponsors. A free entry to Cape Canaveral’s 15th Annual Reindeer 5K Run/Walk on December 11, 2010 was presented to the WW5K and was presented to Ms. Henderson who was interested in participation in the event.

Mr. Chinault requested to know the date of the Fourth Annual Witch Way 5K as soon as available. Ms. Deratany Goldfarb will contact The Running Zone and schedule the event.

Holiday Tree Lighting, December 2, 2010 @ 7:00 p.m.
Ms. Berkman will gather information from Ms. Schwanbeck regarding the ordering of glow-in-the-dark necklaces for the event. Ms. Schwanbeck will contact the Police Department and Fire Department regarding their participation of the event. Members are to meet in Nance Park between 6:00 – 6:15pm.

VII. OTHER
The Committee has taken ownership to forty (40) flashing red lights, not used by the Witch Way 5K event.
