Minutes 11-01; October 25, 2010
Minutes from the October 25, 2010 meeting were corrected in the following areas: a) under BEAUTIFICATION the address was corrected to read 301 Wayne Avenue; and b) under PARKS the suggestion by Ms. Berkman for Tradewinds Park was corrected to read “Suggested that ground cover be provided over the exposed dirt.” The minutes, on motion by Ms. Mayer with a second from Ms. Schwanbeck were approved.

III. TOWN HALL REPORT – MR. CHINAULT
Holiday Lights
It was noted that the Fifth Avenue holiday lights were installed and that any not illuminated would not be repaired due to budget limitations. Additionally, the placement was adjusted from prior years to compensate for the construction that was occurring this year at the easternmost relief bridge.

Sunrise Park
Mr. Chinault advised the committee that plans to address concerns from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regarding the SR-A1A outfall at Watson Drive were forwarded to the Town late last week. They include disturbance of Sunrise Park including closing the parking area during construction. The plans will be reviewed.

Boardwalk
It was noted that Public Works personnel sanded some of the boards along the western edge of the boardwalk south of the emergency vehicle ramp that were curling. The problem was reported at a prior Parks meeting.

IV. BEAUTIFICATION
Status of Beautification Award sign
On motion by Mr. Gott with a second from Ms. Nadeau it was agreed to recognize the property at 301 Wayne Avenue for beautification purposes. Ms. Twitty-Mercer will send the normal letter and then advise Mr. Michelson when to relocate the sign from Physical Addictions to 301 Wayne Avenue.

VI. RECREATION
Holiday Tree Lighting, December 2, 2010 @ 7:00 p.m.
1) Mr. Cassedy noted that Lee’s Towing will donate the trailer upon which the risers will be located unless, at the last minute, Lee’s Towing needs the trailer, which will necessitate placing the risers on the ground. Additionally, the company utilized in 2009 to provide the bucket to decorate the tree has raised their rates from $225/use to $400/use. He has located an alternative company that will charge $200/use—it will take $200 to decorate the tree and $200 to undecorate the tree. Should the bucket not be available he will look to decorate the alternate tree that is situated near the park sign north of the usual holiday tree.
2) Ms. Berkman has made arrangements with Winn-Dixie for cookies to be secured at a discount and for Starbucks to provide three containers of hot chocolate (no coffee) for ninety dollars.
3) It was noted that the Deputy Mayor will provide the welcome.
4) All committee members able to attend the December 2, 2010, event are to report at 6:15 p.m.
Surplus glo necklaces will be distributed. Glo necklaces are available from the recent WitchWay 5k event and due to the minimum order that had to be placed to secure the necklaces for the school choral members.

Fourth Annual Witch Way 5K, Saturday, October 15, 2011 @ 6:30 p.m.
