I. Call to Order
Vice Chairperson Ms. Schwanbeck called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.

II. Approval of prior Meeting Minutes
Minutes 10-06; April 26, 2010
Mr. Gott moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Michelson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

III. Town Hall Report –Mr. Cassedy
Orlando Park
Public Works removed a tree from the Northeast portion of the park that was affected with laurel wilt fungus disease. This is the second tree removed from the area that was subjected to the fungus.

Tradewinds Park
Mr. Gott has been working in the park with the landscaping, removing and planting vegetation. Mr. Gott requested Public Works to water the area from time to time when available.

IV. Beautification
Status of Beautification Award sign
Ms. Berkman relocated the sign from the property of Victor S. & Lorraine P. Kostro, 210 Orlando Blvd., to the property of Cara H. Boyd, 110 Twelfth Avenue. The sign will remain on the property until late August. Nominations for the next location will be brought before the committee at the next scheduled meeting.

North Residential Area
Mr. Gott would like it to be recorded that the North residential area has code violations, regarding the storage location of trash receptacles.

V. Parks
Indian River Park & Tradewinds Park – Catherine Berkman
No complaints.

Dewey Park, Gus Carey Park & Sea Park – Marge Schwanbeck
No complaints.

Orlando Park – Brooke Deratany Goldfarb
Not present.

Sunrise Park & Sunset Park – Bernie Gott
Sunrise Park- parking is still an issue.
Sunset Park- no complaints.
Nance Park – Elaine F. Henderson
A bench board is loose, located near the playground area. Mr. Cassedy made note.

Wavecrest Extension Park, Wavecrest Park & Indialantic Ocean Beach Park – Larry Michelson
No complaints.

Douglas Park & Riverside Park – JoAnne Nadeau
Not present.

VI. Recreation
Eastminster Presbyterian Church Family Movie Night, Friday, June 25, 2010 @ 8:00 p.m.
All committee members were present except for Ms. Nadeau. For the next movie to be chosen, contact the Town of Melbourne Beach to see the last movie that was shown for their event. Seventy-three was the last count of how many people attended the event, including helpers. The Henderson family donated bottled water. The Berkman family purchased the popcorn for the event, and will be reimbursed. Late September or early October for the next Family Movie Night. Mr. Gott suggested to distribute flyers to advertise the event.

Third Annual Witch Way 5K, Saturday, October 23, 2010 @ 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Berkman announced that the Town Council approved The Nature Conservancy for the fifty-fifty split. Mr. Gott suggested that the monies go towards the oyster mats.

VII. Other
Election of Chairperson
Ms. Deratany Goldfarb was nominated for the Chairperson. Tabled for election on August 23, 2010.

Election of Vice Chairperson
Ms. Henderson was nominated for the Vice Chairperson. Tabled for election on August 23, 2010.
