I. Call to Order

II. Approval of prior Meeting Minutes
Minutes 10-05; May 18, 2010
The Minutes were approved as corrected.
Item III, Para. 2 corrected to read:
“Ms. Paige suggested having an architect do a survey assist with our survey of the homes in the Town.

III. Report from Chairperson Marx
Chairperson Marx read from a letter sent to the committee by Joanie Schirm, daughter of long time residents Bubba and Chick Holzer. Ms. Schirm is preparing a book about her parents entitled “My Dear Boy”. It incorporates letters written between 1939 and 1946 between her father and his friends during the WWII era.

Carol and Jenifer met with Indialantic Town Manager Chris Chinault with the following report:
The Town will set up an account for revenues from Committee projects, which will carry over from year to year. This account can provide funding for future Committee projects.

Mr. Chinault suggested that we submit a recommendation to the Brevard County Historical Commission for a state historic marker for the Tradewinds Hotel.

He suggested we approach Indialantic businesses, specifically banks, about sponsoring our historic projects.

IV. Projects
Information regarding price of tee shirts will be reported at the July meeting. The committee agreed that it would be a good idea to order 25 medium, 25 large, 50 XL, 50 XXL). Linda Paige is checking into the cost of embroidering the design. Denise Bozeman will find out the source of the Witch Way 5 K T-shirts.

Calendar of Indialantic History
Denise Bozeman will work on a proposal for the calendar information and
Layout. The calendar should be printed and available for sale by August 2011.

Historic Guide
The guide should be ready to distribute as we approach the Town’s sixtieth
anniversary in November 2012. We should be thinking of potential sponsors to cover costs of the guide.

V. Other
Linda Paige recently spoke with Laura Cannady, whose father was pharmacist at Fifth Avenue Drugs. She suggested that we add her to the list of potential interviewees.

Luncheon fundraiser
The committee will continue to investigate finding an Indialantic home where the Heritage Committee could hold a luncheon to raise funds for Heritage projects.

Denise Bozeman had reported that the cost of materials to produce 200 “Portrait of a
Community” DVDs is $260.00. This replenished our supply and came out of our
FY 2009-2010 budget.

Dian Milligan took a selection of black and white photographs to identify with the help of her sister, Marcia Littlejohn.

VI. Items for next Meeting – Tuesday, October 20, 2009 (10-01)
A. Reports on the cost of T-shirts.
B. Ideas for the Friday at Fifth events.

VII. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
